August here, just dropping in with some eye-catching updates!
The re-release of the series has been going slower than I’d prefer, but Vol. 2 is finally almost here. Check out the smashing new cover by digital artist Elfe Carter!

Leise sure looks like a total badass here, doesn’t she? (Fingers crossed it sells like hotcakes.)
I’ll send out another email when it’s passed Amazon’s verification process, and you can get the new copy with all the new interior art and fixed prose and story logic.
In the meantime, I’m working with my interior artists on Vol. 3. It’s taking a little longer than we’d hoped for them to adapt to the story style, but things are moving forward bit by bit.
I’ve also been doing my best to work on Vol. 5 every day between startups, consulting, and all the other random stuff I do. (Thank you to everyone who bought Vol. 1's rerelease!)
But something is not quite right with Volume 5, and I think I know what it is -- the humor is missing the old spark as I write my latest draft.
I’m not sure if it’s because I drink a lot less than I used to or if I’m just getting old, but the juice just isn't there.
So, while waiting for my artists to finish updating the novels, I’ve been writing some other juicy humorous essays about writing and my life that I’d like to share with you all.
I really think you guys will get a kick out of them, so keep an eye out for them in your inbox, and hopefully, it’ll get my juices flowing again.
(I'm also realizing that I'm using the word "juice" way too much in this letter, and I need to stop using “juice” immediately. Like now.)
So yeah, I'll be sending some emails more often now. Some will be Tipsy Pelican Tavern related. Some will be about me. Hoping it doesn't bother your email filters. Hoping it's interesting and entertaining.
Because if I don't get juiced up with those juicy, laugh-laden, humor-juicing juices, we’re going to be in trouble.
